Graduates of the first in Ukraine training course on gender aspects of public policy got certificates of successful completion.

On May 31,  representatives of USAID RADA Program and Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine secretariat awarded certificates, witnessed the successful completion of training course “Analysis of public policies and legislation in compliance with the principles of equal rights and opportunities for women and men”. Four-months course for employers of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine  was elaborated by a gender expert Olena Suslova.

Deputy Secretary General of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Head of Judicial Department Tepliuk Mykhailo  emphasized  that issues, which were studied during the course allow to approach more objectively the realization of equal rights and opportunities for men and women, which have to be trace in laws.

The course was launched to shape the gender-sensitive parliament and to incorporate the principle of equal rights and opportunities for women and men into public policies and develop policy analysis skills, regarding gender aspects, among the VR staff.

During the training coure, 47 employers of Committees  secretariat’s  of Verkhovna Rada were  learning  basic principles for gender analysis, mechanisms for incorporation principle of equal rights and opportunities for men and women into public policies, and were analyzing  bills and laws on gender aspects.
