The USAID RADA Program, together with the Computerized Systems Department of the VR Secretariat, co-organized a training event for employees of the Committees’ secretariats.
“The Hour of Questions and Answers” focused on the experience of using the VRU’s electronic systems by the parliamentary Committees.
The participants were provided with answers ad practical advice directly by the employees of the Computerized Systems Department of the VRU Secretariat maintaining the relevant resources (Electronic Document Management System, Electronic Draft Law, Electronic Committee Meeting); they also shared experience and usage practices.
The event was held on February 5, 2021.
In previous years, the USAID RADA Program supported the development and introduction of a series of electronic tools for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. These include:
- Platform for Electronic Petitions to the VRU
- Platform for Public Discussion of Draft Laws
- System for Conducting Electronic Committee Meetings
- Electronic Agenda of Plenary Meetings
The RADA Program supported the development and introduction at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Electronic Parliamentarism Strategy for 2018-2020.
At the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the USAID RADA Program provided the VRU Secretariat and the MPs with recommendations on work in videoconference mode and on the implementation of the Law “On Amending the Law of Ukraine ‘On the Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine’.”
During the pandemic, the Program conducted a series of online trainings for VRU Committees, their secretariats, MPs and their aides on holding Committee meetings in videoconference mode and working (especially remotely) with the Unified Electronic Document Management System, the Electronic Committee System, and the Electronic Agenda System.
During the months to come, the USAID RADA Program will support the purchase of equipment and the development of software for remote participation of MPs in all types of meetings and in electronic voting.
