MPs send for revision Bill on amendments to the Law on the Judicial System and the Status of Judges

Members of Parliament sent for revision Bill on amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On the Judicial System and the Status of Judges "in connection with the adoption of the Law of Ukraine “On High Anti-Corruption Court" No. 74417441-1 to the subject of legislative initiative by a minimum of 226 votes required.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy named this bill as technical one and urged MPs to quickly consider it. However, lawmakers refused to pass this bill in the first reading as was proposed by the Chairman. MPs backed Bill No. 7441 by 203 votes and Bill No. 7441-1 by 123 votes only.

Earlier today people’s deputies included Bill on the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court No. 74407440-17440-27440-37440-4 in today’s agenda with 259 votes in favor and then passed the Bill No. 7440 in the first reading with a total of 282 votes in favor out of minimum 226 votes required.

On Tuesday, February 27, parliamentarians with 235 votes “for” made a decision on the instruction of the Committee on Legal Policy on preparation for urgent consideration of draft laws on the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court (No. 74407440-17440-27440-37440-4) and on amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On the Judicial System and the Status of Judges "in connection with the adoption of the Law of Ukraine “On High Anti-Corruption Court" (No. 74417441-1).
