Chairman of the VR Parubiy and Marshal of the Polish Parliament Marek Kuchciński discussed Carpathian macro-regional strategy

Lviv Oblast Council and State Administration initiated Local Development Forum in Truskavets on June 23 - 25, 2017. The Forum was organized for the second time and is intended to become an international platform for exchanging experience on intensifying cooperation between countries within Carpathian region.  

USAID RADA Program will hold a Parliamentary Conference for regional mass media to get acquainted with the work of Parliament

The parliamentary conference will be held in Kyiv on June 26-27, 2017. This event will summarize interim results of 2.5 years of the VR of the VIII convocation. Within the framework of this meeting, a press conference of Andriy Parubiy, chairman of the Ukrainian parliament, as well as heads of parliamentary factions, will be organized on the results of the Verkhovna Rada work. 

USAID RADA Program organized training for MPs within the framework of the Model District Project

USAID RADA Program conducted a training course within the framework of the Model District Initiative in Volyn Oblast on June 16-19. The participants of the event were people's deputies of Ukraine Oleksandr Kodola and Igor Huz, as well as assistants of MPs and representatives of international organizations.

Olena Suslova presented a handbook on gender analysis in public policy and regulatory acts

On June 20, 2017, the presentation of the new handbook "Analysis of state policy and legal acts in accordance with the principle of equal rights and opportunities for women and men" was held at the USAID RADA Program office. Its author is a human rights and gender activist Olena Suslova. The handbook tells about the women's movement, the principles of policy analysis, and explains what a gender-correct parliament is. The author reported that the study was designed for civil servants.

Graduates of the first in Ukraine training course on gender aspects of public policy got certificates of successful completion.

On May 31,  representatives of USAID RADA Program and Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine secretariat awarded certificates, witnessed the successful completion of training course “Analysis of public policies and legislation in compliance with the principles of equal rights and opportunities for women and men”. Four-months course for employers of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine  was elaborated by a gender expert Olena Suslova.
