USAID RADA Program held an online meeting of Lithuanian and Ukrainian MPs. It was dedicated to the communication of parliamentarians with voters and activities in the constituencies.
The event was attended, in particular, by Kazys Starkevičius, deputy of the Lithuanian Seimas, Chairman of the Committee on Economic Affairs, member of the Commission on Ethics and Procedures, and Ihor Huz, MP of Ukraine, Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on State Building, Local Governance, Regional and Urban Development. The other participants in the meeting were representatives of local authorities.
The participants discussed a wide range of issues. They paid considerable attention to the cooperation of parliamentarians with local self-government bodies. In particular, the focus was on addressing various local problems, improving the welfare of the people. They exchanged experience in solving energy supply problems, using online tools, etc.
The event took place on March 26, within the framework of the USAID RADA Program’s Project “Twinning of Constituencies: Best Practices of Countries of Europe and the Baltic States.”
